I recently had the opportunity to play the new Tetherow Golf course in Bend, Ore. Designed by Scottish-born David McLay Kidd, the course has been advertised as a "pure links" golf experience. Having made a couple of trips to Ireland and being a big fan of links golf, I wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed.

Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Ore., will hold a grand opening on July 26th. The David McLay Kidd-designed layout is the centerpiece of a new 700-acre resort community on the west side of the city in Central Oregon. Kidd's most notable designs include the original course at Bandon Dunes and the Castle Course, the seventh course in St. Andrews, Scotland. Full Story |

The final round of the PNGA Cup on the Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Pronghorn Club in Bend, Ore., began with an unlikely leader and 24 points up for grabs in singles matches. As play began it seemed as if first-day leader Idaho would be competing with the defending champion Oregon team for the title in the third annual version of the tournament. Full Story |
The Oregon Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (OGCSA) has recognized Richard A. Fluter as the 2008 recipient of its Hall of Fame Award.
